I made this picture in 1995 but used it to win first place in a Dark Horse Manga Art Contest in 1996. The prize for first place? A signed copy of Inron Depot #1 by Masamune Shiro himself! Did I ever get the signed copy of Intron Depot #1? Hell no.... After months of waiting, I contacted Dark Horse to find out what happened to my book. I got the typical run-a-round from them. They said it was mailed off after the contest had ended and I should have received it. Which I didn't. They told me to wait a bit longer. Which I did and still no signed Inron Depot. They decided to send me out some other Shirow related materials: Intron Depot #1 (not signed) an Apple Seed manga and an Apple Seed Digest. All of which I previously owned.... Somewhere out there is a signed edition of Intron Depot #1 by Shiro that should be mine....
