PUBLISHED WORKS
- 1990
- Ninja High School Yearbook for 1990
- Ninja High School's Seattle Adventure (Starring: The Walkemen Pair)
- Written by: me. Drawn and inked by: Jack Tsai. Lettering: me.
- I wanted to work with Jack on a little comic project and when I saw that Antarctic Press was needing artists to contribute for their annual, I knew we had to do a story together.
- This is basically a short parody story of the Ninja High School characters as they visit an art school in Seattle. Alien abduction, a rescue attempt, a trip to the Space Needle and the destruction of Seattle ensues.
- 1991
- Ninja High School Yearbook for 1991
- The Concert!
- Written by: Rich Schleifer. Drawn by: Tin Chan. Inked by: me. Lettering: me.
- Another team effort. I worked on this with my good friend Tin Chan. I had just got him started on drawing "Japanese style" comic characters and I thought this would be a good opportunity to get another story published.
- The NHS characters get free tickets to the MC Hammer (hey.... he was popular at the time and it fits with the joke at the end of the story) concert. But wait! What's this??? Local bad boy, Manilla Frost and his chillin' homies steal the tickets. After a car chase, the NHS characters get the tickets back and head to the concert. When they get there, they find out that they actually have tickets to an MC HOMER concert!
- 1992
- Girls of Ninja High School #2
- Dream Date
- This is my first solo project that ever got published. Man, I have REALLY improved since then! :)
- Just a little short story of Itchy Koo and her dream date with Jeremy.
- 1993
- Mangazine #26 and #27
- Walkemen Pair
- Having greatly improved my comic skills from the last published story (Dream Date), I decided to do a short story on the Walkemen Pair characters that Jack and I created for our Ninja High School's Seattle Adventure (Starring: The Walkemen Pair) story.
- #26. Part 1. The Walkemen Pair (Rick Slater and Jack Saeba) get stuck in traffic on I-5 in Seattle and decide to find out what the hold up is. They discover that Malarky Mark and Sir Mixed Up Alot (yeah, more parodies of famous rappers at the time) are the cause of the grid lock.
- #27. Part 2. Malarky Mark unleashes his Hawaiian Bunch attack on the Walkemen Pair and Sir Mixed Up Alot (who have just teamed up against Malarky). Jack decides to finish the fight by using his magic to shoot a fireball at Malarky. Jack misses Malarky but manages to his the truck labeled "flammable" that is parked in front of them. Ala Dirty Pair, mass destruction devistates the freeway.
- 1995
- Gold Digger Annual 1995
- Make A Wish
- I published this story under the pseudonym: The Other White Meat Stew-Dios.
- I decided to try my hand at drawing the famous Gold Digger characters. You can see my artwork has really improved since the solo Walkemen Pair project.
- Gina and Cheeta are broke again. Gina has just come home from an excavation from which she has found a pricless statue. Cheeta pours herself a bowl of cereal and finds out that her toy surprise can grant her just one wish. Be careful of what you wish for, Cheeta! :)
- 1998
- Baka Con Art Show
- 2nd Place in Baka Con '98 Art/Model Show
- I put up a lot of art for the first Northwest Anime convention- Baka Con. I hated the name of the con. C'mon... who really wants to go to "Idiot" Con. Other than that, the con was pretty fun. My piece that won me the 2nd Place ribbon in the art show was the "Red" picture I did in 1997.
- 2000
- Gold Digger Annual #6
- Dumm. The D'oh of Destruction
- I published this story under the pseudonym: The Other White Meat Stew-Dios.
- This story was submitted for the Gold Digger Annual for 1996 or 1997. They weren't printed then and I never received any rejection letters from Antarctic Press. After attending A-Kon 2000, Antarctic Press told me to resubmit my stories that I had submitted that were never published (this story and two other Ninja High School stories that I did between 1994 till 1996). Being this story was created back in 1996, it has a lot of "older" jokes in it for that time(it's a parody of Doom, there's a Toyota ad parody in there, and the girls are playing on linked 7500/100 Power PC Macintosh computers).
- Gina, Cheeta and Penny are stuck in a facility that is being over run from demons from hell. To make matters worse, they are low on ammo and Cheeta accidentaly opens a trap door releasing more demons! Only a chain saw, a BMFG 2000 and a miracle can save them now!
- Goddess #1
- This is a small self published "dojinshi" (mini comic) that I published specifically for Project A-Kon 2000 to sell in the Komic Market. I sold quite a bit of these at the Kon. It features a 13 page mini story, the story translated into Japanese (my wife Yuko helped with this) and 7 pages of colored prints.
- This short story features the air angel and the fire demoness from my Goddess theme. A village girl decides enough is enough and makes a stand against the fire demoness. Can the village girl stand against the powers of the fire demoness and survive?
- Mangaphile #8
- Goddess Part 1
- Radio Comix liked my Goddess story when I presented it to them at A-Kon earlier this year. They liked it so much, they decided to print it. It is exactly like the little dojinshi that I printed for A-Kon so there's no need to explain it twice. It was cut into two parts though. So be on the look out for Mangaphile #9 when it comes out later on in December (or early January 2001).
- 2001
- Mangaphile #9
- Goddess Part 2
- In Mangaphile #9, my Goddess story comes to a conclusion. Oh how sad....
- Manga EX #6
- Agency Wax "Proje-X". Episode 1.
- I even got the cover for this issue! Whoooo-hooo! Unfortunatly, Antarctic Press put the wrong artists name on the cover for credit. Damn!
- This story is an extended version of the Dumm. The D'oh of Destruction story that I had printed in Gold Digger Annual #6. I renamed the characters and had a bit more fun with the story. I also used PhotoShop to greyscale the whole comic in.
- Two mercenaries are called to check in on a secret government installation that has just opened a passage to the underworld. It's more fun than shooting zombies in the crotch with a grenade launcher!
- Feb 2003
- Guest Artist at RadCon 2003!
- Gave a computer art panel at the convention.
